World's Best Mum

These are two lovely photos of Katie and her Mummy, and I just knew I had to include a heart somewhere, then I remembered some paper doillies I had bought but not used. I also had a square of "mother" themed paper lurking in the stash, which was the colour inspiration.

The punched flowers were left over from another page, but just matched the colours in the photos and the green craft candy finished it off.

Craft Den Workshop

I spent a very relaxing evening doing a workshop with Lynne on Tuesday. We made a handbag card with a card outer covered in some beautiful papers. We decorated the cover with punched flowers with what I call Jellytots, but I think are called Craft Candy. I put a card on the front which I will add some writing to when I know what I am going to use the card for.

The inside of the card was made with five envelopes, each with a card inside on which to write or include photos.

It would make a lovely 50th birthday card, as you could put photos from each decade on each of the cards.

Thanks for another wonderful workshop Lynne.

K-K-Katie

Still trying to use up my stash, and found some pieces of pink papers which went nicely with the background paper, so managed to complete another two pages. The first one shows Katie playing in the paddling pool, one day when it was hot.

I used the Cricut to cut the letters for her name for the second page, and used the cut out K for the first page. I love this photo of her, though she does look quite serious.

All the other smaller photos were cut out of larger ones, which makes it nice to see each little area in detail. Obviously they are all perfect, just like her.

Spotty Dotty

These photos were taken of Katie when she had chicken pox a couple of months ago. Poor little love she was really covered with them.

I like to work in double pages, and the next page shows her studying a flower. I love the look of wonder on her face. As we grow older we often miss the wonder in things around us.

I decided it was time I made a start on using up some of my massive stock of paper, and as I am on holiday at the moment I am trying to get in lots of scrapbooking.

Princess Emily

I started this page at Craft Den a couple of weeks ago. I used two sheets of Blonde Moments paper, one for the background and the other for the shaped frame, which then had "stitching" marked on it. I stamped two large flowers and words onto purple card and used the same card in the black backed panel, which included some lacy plastic ribbon.

The large heart was cut from another piece of Blonde Moments paper. The smaller hearts were stamped onto scraps of Blonde Moments paper. Although I have only just finished this page, the photo was taken around Christmas last year. One day I will catch up with scrapbooking my photos!

11th July 2010

This is a page I started at Craft Den quite a few weeks ago, but have only just had the photos developed. The background was a green textured paper, and strips of different patterned papers were laid on top.

The flowers were punched out of the same card as the scalloped circle and the centres of these and the larger dots on the scalloped circle were created with a black Pearl Pen. The "stitching" was done with a black craft pen.

The pages show Katie enjoying herself in her baby walker.

Family Wedding

Yesterday we went to Emily and Katie's Aunty Michelle and Uncle David's wedding. The girls looked lovely in their matching outfits. Cannot wait to develop the photos and get scrapbooking.

They were a bit overwhelmed with it all, what with the heat, and time it took to take photos and the ceremony, they both fell asleep on the way home.

Congratulations David and Michelle.

Caesar

My friend Joanne gave me a pack of glittery swirls and I thought they would go well with these photos of Caesar, my son's Bull Mastif. He started off really small, the runt of the litter, but boy did he grow.

Caesar is devoted to David, who spoils him rotten!

Rainy days

I just love rainy days, and we have had plenty of those this week. Instead of working in my allotment, rain days mean I can concentrate on crafting. I have just finished this book for my youngest grand-daughter for her First Christmas.

I made the book over a year ago at a workshop Lynne ran at Craft Den, but have only just got around to using it for a project.

Some of the pages have a pocket half way down for extra photos and others have a pull out tag for journalling.

I really enjoyed making this book and hope Katie will enjoy looking at it when she is older.

Chatsworth Day Out

I had a lovely day out with my daughter, Beth, and grand-daughters Emily and Katie. I made a memory book from a childs board reading book. I seperated the pages and covered them with scrapbooking paper. I added a small front cover for the title of the book. Each page has a semi circle tab sticking out. I used the Cricut machine to cut out daisies, which match the background paper, and used these to decorate the pages.

The final page in the book shows a picure which Emily coloured in while we were waiting for our lunch.

I now have a lovely book to commemorate a wonderful day out.
